This week in my Foundations of American Education Classroom we are looking at Khan Academy and TED-Ed lessons. The basic idea behind both of those websites is the idea of the Flipped Classroom. The infographic below details what I mean by a “flipped classroom”. What I like about the concept is that it takes the passivity out of the classroom. Any lecture can be recorded and viewed on a number of devices (that a student should have access to) outside of the classroom, thus opening up class time for interactions with each other (student-teacher and student-student interactions). It is exciting to think about.
