During the global pandemic I have had a number of moments to reflect on what I am learning through this unprecedented time. Over and over again I come back to the value of relationships. About intentionally connecting with someone either within my house or over Zoom. There is not substitute for intentional relationship building.

But during that process I come to appreciate that most people are not like me which makes me question my own intentions and thought processes. It also makes me question the thoughts and motivations behind the actions of the person I am seeking a connection. Add attempting to then teach to that person and this relationship building has become increadibly complicated.

Enter the enneagram. In the book, The Road Back to You: An Enneagram Journey to Self-Discovery by Ian Morgan Cron and Suzanne Stabile, the authors of the book break down each of the enneagram types and help readers figure out how to better understand themselves, how to better themselves, and how to better interact with the world and each other.
