Math specialists assemble…we’ve got problems.
Today I am giving a presentation on problems at the Mathematics Specialists Conference at the Center for Mathematics and Science Education. The more I am exposed to the Common Core State Standards for School Mathematics the more I am convinced that the key to meeting the standards is to use problems, actual problems. Too often there is confusion about what a problem is and how to use good problems effectively. This presentation was meant to clear up some of the confusion…hopefully.
